Title: Outboard Mechanic recomendation
Post by: BIGMIKE on March 15, 2017, 02:56:35 PM: Hello everyone, I got an old Johnson 70 HP outboard. I would like it to get checked and turned up. Any recommendations on a mechanic. Saw a few on Craigslist but I don't know much about their work. West side is preferred (Pierce County all the way to Tumwater

Post by: jjdavis2222 on March 15, 2017, 07:56:07 PM: i have only taken mine to auburn sports since about 1998! Never once have I had an issue! Like any marine mechanic it's not cheap. The last full PM I did on my 2008 Yamaha 150 was like $700! But they do great work! But you better call super quick for an appointment! Last year I called in around the beginning of April and wanted to get my Prop looked at and it was a 7 week wait! Their busy for a reason! Good luck.

Been taking my stuff to Tom for over 30 years. If you need parts for that motor I might have them.

I was going to recommend the Boat Doc also. Rick and Brad are top notch! I've dealt with them several times. And are my choice for boat repair. Just figured it might be to far away for the O.P.
