I thought some of you guys might like to see this old photo, just got it scanned today. My grandfather brought me this, and the guy in the photo is his grandfather....so my great great grandfather....the father of my 96 year old great grandmother who recently renewed her concealed carry permit...but thats another story.
The photo was taken in the late 1930's at the family homestead in northern Pacific County in the Elkhorn area. I guess he used to feed the elk cigarette butts all the time, not sure what he is getting in this picture. I know my great grandmother talks about shooting elk from the back windows of the house....sounds like they had elk meat whenever in those days.

wow...great pic. :)

Cigarette Butts? Crap if I'd only known bull elk were attracted to cigarette butts. I could make a fortune with cigarette butt scent lures. I'll be rich I tell you rich :chuckle:
J/K thats a really cool picture though.

Right on, GW! Now if that isn't the coolest thing I've seen in a while. If you have any other pics and stories like this, I for one would sure appreciate seeing them.
Holler if you need a hand digitally cleaning these up.

It's a hog for sure....thanks for the touch up backwoods. I talked to my grandfather the other day, he'd talked to his mom again about the picture and she dated it at 1929-1931, this was taken before highway 101 was completed from Raymond to Aberdeen.
