Title: Change of pace this spring
Post by: soccerftw123 on March 18, 2017, 11:44:18 PM: Two years ago I drew the mountain view spring bear tag, lets just say ive been obsessed with bears ever since then. I had never been bear hunting a whole lot or stepped foot in the unit. On that hunt I set a personal record of 48 ticks in one day and learned the importance of carrying a water filter. Six miles in I a did get a shot at a bear and missed. Few too many falls knocked my scope around too much. It was a fun hunt but a little too far to travel every weekend.

I put in for Kapowsin this year because its closer to home and my truck runs a little unpredictably. Looking at past threads it sounds like the guys that draw the tag get to know each other pretty well, so if you see a college kid with a broken down truck feel free to say hi :hello: Im pretty excited for the change in hunting styles and the lack of hundreds of ticks. Post by: trophyhunt on March 19, 2017, 08:27:51 AM: it is always tough finding bears in Hancock, much easier in the blues. But way less ticks than the east side. Permithin, not sure of the spelling, works pretty good. Just follow the directions on the bottle. Good luck

Permethrin. Make sure to keep it away from your cat while its wet if you have one. Messes with their nervous system until it's dry then it's fine. Kills ticks pretty much instantly for up to a few weeks once it drys on your clothes.
