Title: 348 Winchester ammo

I been thinking a lot about the hunt coming up.

My go to gun in my 30.06 pump with Leo . 3x9.

But in the event I have a wounded bear. I was thinking of pulling my model 71 in 348 with 200 grain silver tips out of the safe for what could be close in work.

Anyone know. of a store that carrys 348 ammo.

I can order it but would just like to walk in and buy a box. Long shot I know.

348 is too small. Need to sell it and get something in the 400 range. :chuckle:

They told me the factory ran it once a year.

I will check Skagit Arms. Just sitting here thinking about it.

Think I have a half box.

Yeah I know model 71 is a collectors gun now. Got it from my 96 year old father in law. He used it for elk.

I shot a box through it and put it away. It is a beast. But might be great for close in cranky bear work.

Post by: Skywagon_185 on March 28, 2017, 08:44:19 PM: .348 model 71 is an awesome gun for anything up to 200 yards. Killed my first buck at age 11 60 years ago. Took many bull elk when I first started hunting them at age 17. No better brush gun for heavy game.

Checked my supply and had a full box of Silver Tips.

Several places told me to check back in months.

I have a box of Brass too.
