Title: snoqualmie river
Post by: AceInTheWild on February 20, 2009, 08:51:12 PM
i fish the mouth of tokul. and i was wondering if any one else who fishes this area has any good tips on lures? colors? time of day? ive noticed right before dark a bright jig wokrs for me to get bites but nothing is really slamming my pole down. frankly any fisherman with knowledge of rivers has a few good tricks up their sleve. im not asking for the secrets just some fingers down the right path. :dunno:

Personally I cant even catch a cold while steelheading :'(, but the guys im with fish that spot with decent success. They usually drift matte to metallic pinks and oranges depending on water clarity and sunlight...... pretty much the same as everybody else up there. They back death head pinks and herring bone chromes in orange or green skeletons when pulling plugs. Went there last weekend and.............. didnt catch $hit. Booooooo

it is "open year round" until they have an emergency closure, which they usually do this time of year if the returns of wild fish are low.
wild steelhead in the snoqualmie and most all the other rivers in this state is catch and release only, don't take them out of the water law, etc.
flyfishing has nothing to do with it being open year round.
above the falls the south fork is open year round i believe, it is tough fishing in the winter time for small trout.
