Title: Lower Snake River Boating Adventure
Post by: acrocker on April 09, 2017, 03:17:19 PM: I was thinkng about doing a boat trip up the lower SnaKe, putting in at Tri-Cities and heading upstream, locking through the dams and heading to Lewiston/Clarkston. I know there's some Army Corp of Engineer land along the river to camp at, but how are the other amenities - plenty of places to gas up if needed? How long would a trip like that take if I wanted to take my time and do some fishing along the way, but had a sled that could cruise at 30 MPH when I wanted to make some time?

Post by: Sumpnneedskillin on April 10, 2017, 09:16:37 AM: The only places I know where to fuel up are Lyons Ferry Marina, Boyer Park and then Lewiston/Clarkston. I don't know down river very well so there may be a few places down there.

As for amenities, there are a few campgrounds along the river. On the right hand side of this page there's info on a bunch of the Rec sites

From Tri Cities to Lyons Ferry contact Tri-Rivers Natural Resources Office at Ice Harbor.
From Lyons Ferry to Lewiston/Clarkston contact the Clarkston Natural Resources Office.

Post by: bigdave on April 10, 2017, 12:36:21 PM: I know there was a boating outfitter in lewiston/clarkston that would rent you a jetboat for a downstream tour and then pick you up in the tricities area. You might call around to find them and see if they would share info they have. This was during the Lewis and Clark bicentennial in 2004-2006 so I do not remember the name of the company.
