My Ithaca rifled barrel 12 gauge likes these sabot slugs. They group about 2.5 inches at 100 yards (most of that is me, this is not from a sled) and at 385 grains and 1900 fps they leave a serious hole. Two deer at 85 and 93 yards, neither went more than 50 feet. Here's my problem: 18 shots at the range yesterday, and 3 did not fire. No mark on the primer at all. I have only had this happen once in about 70 shells previously. Has anyone had a similar experience with Accutips? Is there a firing pin adjustment or something I should check?

I don't have any first hand experience with this ammo, but I would compare the unfired shells to known good and see if the primer is deeper for some reason.
I also would take your bolt apart and check the operation of the firing pin, make sure it's clean and in good shape.
What gun are you using? Did you try to re-fire the shells? Try em in a different gun to see if they go bang maybe?

I've used them for several years in 12 and 20 gauge, with no misfires.

I would say gun related for sure. If its not hitting the primer, that explains the misfires. I would take it to a good smith.

:yeah:
no mark = gun related

Forgot about this one for a while. A good thorough cleaning and everything is firing smoothly, right through the shells that didn't fire before. I think the firing pin was just sticky.
