Get private access....

What he said. Some on pub land but you have to work very hard for them. Not a lot of numbers back there as it is and most are on private. Good luck

We were hoping to spot some turkeys around teanaway this past weekend as well, but were surprised to see how poor the access to public land was. We didn't see any signs of birds, but lots of hunters, so we just relaxed with family instead. :dunno:

It is not what it used to be. I believe the fall hunting season along with other things has really hurt them.
In the past finding multiple gobbler was easy. Now it's hard just to find one.
Good luck in your search

The Teanaway is a draw only permit for the fall season. So don't know how the fall season could be a problem there with limited amount of permits. Heard that over the last weekend a lot of people getting birds in the area but there were down low. Most likely private land.
