Title: quick question
Post by: texmex on February 21, 2009, 05:42:09 PM
Alright I'm all new to this predator calling thing and last weekend I bought a fx3.  Well I set up today and in two different setups I had coyotes bark and howl back but they never showed themselves.  I know they didn't smell me because I was downwind and was fully camoed.  I was just wondering what is the best thing to do in that situation.  Thanks in advance for the help Im going to try again tomorrow.  At least I did manage to flush two groups of huns.

Not much you can do. If they are making a lot of ruckus close by, then you've been busted somehow. Or they've heard it all before and are giving warning barks. Without hearing the sounds they made it's tough to say what happened. All you can do is sit tight, and try to coax them with different sounds. Typically dogs that really want to come in do, and they do it right now without making a bunch of noise. In fact they rarely ever make a peep before coming in. Sometimes, but it's not the rule in my experience.

Or just pull out the flask of Crown Royal and have a stiff one. Works for us, not much you can do at that point.
