I need a bbq for my camp trailer
needs to be big enough to be useful for 5+ people, but mall enough to pack away under trailer.
What do you use and any input on what you like or dont?
-
I like my nexgrill I purchased at Costco
-
I have a Coleman roadtrip with a lot of accessories (griddle, stove grate, grill plates) and a roller bag I was going to list. Lightly used and still functional last I checked it. I'd let it go cheap, if you are interested. Probably not something to ship, though.
-
I use the stainless table top grill from cabelas It works very well and since I got mine all of my buddies have got one for their rv
-
I have the stainless Cabelas tabletop in my trailer but upgraded to the portable Traeger last year so I doubt the tabletop grill will get used again.

What about these

thanks for offer, I'm on East side so probably to far

It has more frill space then others and has a top rack. Anyone ever use one?
-
I use a Lodge Cast iron BBQ. Small and heats up quickly big enough for a couple of steaks
-
Webber Q.
-
Weber 14.5" Go Anywhere
-
Yep little Weber. I insist on charcoal or wood, will not use a gas grill.

I use a coleman roadtrip that I modified to hook directly into the trailer propane quick connect system, it slides in the storage bay and it's just super handy. This does the bulk of my cooking. I also have built in on my RV an outdoor mini kitchen under the awning so that gets used for skillet stuff.
I also use a weber for steaks and grilling duties, I don't like propane steaks.
For longer stays or hunting trips, I break out the camp chef explorer but its heavy and cumbersome for weekends at the lake so unless I'm parking for a week or hunting it stays home. I have the huge griddle, BBQ box and other cast iron that comes with it *heavy* but man I can make some fajitas on that thing :party1:

Looks extremely similar to the nex grill from costco.
Brother in law has the nexgrill, seems like a great choice. I have a RVQ that came with the trailer, quick connect to the RV and having a place to hang it away from table space is extremely nice. Not sure I'd pay the money for an RVQ if I had to buy something though.

upgraded to the portable Traeger last year
How do you like the portable Traeger? I've been looking at the Green Mountian portable. I like the idea of being able to use it with 12 volt or 110 volt.

Green mountain portable one is amazing!!

Amen, Brother!
-
I've been using a $30 table top gas grill I picked up at Bi Mart. Works great...grill is a bit cramped but will cook 4-5 average size steaks or pork cops.

Next time you get pulled over you are going to have some 'splainin' to do. :chuckle:

+1 :yeah:
Most don't want to wait, but it is really worth it in my opinion.

Got the road trip Coleman BBQ. We enjoyed it. Got the griddle insert, really like that
-
Like costco portable stainless bbq. Had coleman roadtrip - did not like that at all - circular burners hotspot on me for steaks and the Griddles were so less effective then just plugging in a $20 electric griddle.

These are great depending on the size of your storage areas. I also have a mini version and a small Weber grill.

Still looking to offload if anyone is interested.

Did you just use the little bottles, or did you get a adapter to use bigger bottles?
-
I have used both, but a 10 pounder is about the perfect cross between portability, convenience, and transportability.

I just bought the vector smoke hollow for my motorhome. It's gas, which I'm usually against but this grill also has a chip tray and separate smoke burner and actually infuses smoke better than expected. The grill is on the larger side (why I picked this grill over the traeger) and a bit cumbersome to carry but being at 225 and smoking in less than 20mins is well worth it to me. One of the nice features is being able to put 20mins of smoke into a steak or burger and then cranking up both grills to finish it off. Just like any grill you have hot spots and takes a bit to find them and season the grill. I've done burgers, steaks, chicken thighs and a whole chicken with good success and most importantly visible smoke ring. Only other draw back I can think of is initial assembly had a lot of parts but the instructions were straight forward and simple.
