Hey all,
I will be down in the Umatilla area this weekend and am looking for some info on fishing walleye and smallies from the bank of the river.
I have not fished the area yet and will travel up or down the river if necessary.
I plan to head down tomorrow morning and will be camping for a few days.
I have some jigs with twister tails and slip bobbers and whatnot.
I also will have both WA and OR fishing licenses.
What I am looking for is advice on
1. Areas to try
2. Tackle to bring with me
3. Tips on techniques to use
4. and anything else you walleye experts may have to suggest.
This an attempt to put some eyes in the freezer for summer fish fries!!
Thanks
Jason

I've caught them off the shore on the oregon side just below the dam. Casting blade baits jigs with nightcrawlers and such. I've heard people have done well with just casting a nightcrawler and letting it sit on the bottom. With the higher water level right now it has most of the walleye pushed to the side. I'd guess you could catch them on either side below mcnary.

I was in Herminston a couple of weeks ago......They are spilling a lot of water, I would bring a fair amount of weight

They are mostly in little pockets out of the current
