Anyone know about it? If you draw the cow tag is it any easy deal.

Daughter had the bull tag last year and elk never showed up. Guy was great to talk to but no call to come shoot an elk.

Her tag was a different ranch but same idea.

The old man Gary passed away a couple months ago and now his son is running it. The elk are always  there. I'd imagine access to that place would be fairly easy, unlike some of the other similar tags. I watch the elk on pine from my house all year long.

The son has always ran it and I am pretty sure that you won't have and issue getting a cow.

This hunt is not the same as say the Black Rock,  and don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure he lets people hunt up there as long as we aren't hunting?

Hauling an elk to your truck is never an easy deal.  Like many places, depending on where it drops it could either be close to the road, or require hauling it uphill to get to the truck.  Also, the level of snow can restrict the access.  We hunted deer there one year and the main road was impassible so we had to hoof it in and didn't have practical access to much of the area.

If you wanted a hunt with few variables, there are better options for areas not as impacted by snow or with as much elevation change to worry about.

The antlerless season runs from August 1 through November 5 so I don't think weather will be an issue

Huh, when I talked to the bio, he mentioned it was their winter range.  They must be in there earlier.

It was their winter range until they stopped feeding them on the end of Tieton Dr. (I'd call it more of an early spring range now) The bio is somewhat right because you will definitely see more elk come through during late November early December headed toward the Cowiche feed station, but there are still elk around during that cow season

I was just asking because to me it looks pretty much like a guaranteed cow. IF you can draw, which is almost impossible with only 2 tags. My main concern is access to the ranch, as in only certain days allowed on and such.

It is winter range, there are a few hundred elk that stay there all winter

You shouldn't have an issue with access if you draw

It is winter range, there are a few hundred elk that stay there all winter

If you say so. I didn't mean to offend you

Didnt offend me, but I watch them from my porch all winter.
