Title: best scope mounts for Marlin Guide gun 45/70?
Post by: Dan-o on May 25, 2017, 01:35:51 PM: Picking one up.

Want to pit a low power scope on..... maybe 1-5 power or something in that range.

Anyone got a favorite scope mount for these?

Post by: doubletall on May 25, 2017, 02:44:52 PM: Unless you're totally set on putting a scope on it, have you considered a peep sight. I put a Skinner peep on my guide gun and couldn't believe how much better they are than the stock sights.

And yes I need a scope...... my old eyes just don't focus on iron sights anymore.....

I also went with QD scope rings mine are the leupold QRW's

Yeah they work good.I marked the slot for the rear ring so i know exactly which one to put it in when i take the scope off.I have only taken off the scope three times once to sight in the ghost/peep and twice just to see if they would hold zero and the did so i don't have any complaints.
