I thought Hunt-WA may like my northern lights photos from this weekend up in the Mt. Baker area.

I was so angry. I saw some amazing pics taken from right behind my house looking north while we were out of town.
Thanks for sharing. Those are some awesome photos.

I too was very upset. Spent the weekend in the woods with family out of cell service. I have several apps that let me know when Northern Lights have the potential of showing. I've spent many hours standing around in the cold and the wind (seems like winter is the best time of year) trying to get some pics. I have a few OK pics but nothing like in this thread.
Saw on the Yellowstone FB page that they saw them too. Some pretty cool pics of YNP scenery with Northern Lights.

For what it's worth, I couldn't see them around 11pm Sunday night from Alpowa Ridge. They said there was a chance of seeing them. Not sure if they were visible there Saturday night or not.

That is awesome, if you do not mind me asking what was your setup to get a shot like that?

Beautiful shots. Thank you for posting.
I too am curious about your technique?

I was shooting my Canon 6D with a 24-70mm F2.8L lens.
Aurora settings:
F2.8, 20s exposure, 28mm zoom, 1600 ISO.
Star shot settings:
F2.8, 20s exposure, 25mm zoom, 1600 ISO.

That's awesome. Thanks for capturing them.

Awesome photos. We saw them from the Idaho wilderness that Saturday night. No color though, just huge white lights rippling across the sky. Pretty amazing to see but lacked that *censored*ness of what you saw.

I don't think that depth of color can be picked up by the human eye.
