Been out to 49 degrees north almost every weekend and one left to go. Seeing lots of great country and wild game, but no bears and very little sign. With one weekend left, may have to whip out the plastic and try to get a guided hunt. This Saturday had a moose run right in front of us, and we watched more whitetail than I could count. :chuckle:

I was mushroom hunting in 117 last weekend and didn't see any fresh bear sign.

Saw last year's tree peels, and some older scat. Been up high, and down low. Started low when everything was still snowed in above 2000 feet. Lots of people still camping along roads. Thought with turkey hunting being over the roads would be a little less used..

Also lack of fresh moose sign was a bit troubling. May have just been the drainage I was in. Found plenty of morels though.

That is what I keep seeing is moose sign. Ripper and I had one run right out in front of us Saturday morning. Majestic animals! I know where to apply for a moose tag :chuckle: :chuckle: Now if I could just find some bear sign

First light , and last light gonna be best times, now it's getting hotter outside, drive as many roads early mourning ,glassing every cut you can find.only advise I know.I'm going to check my game cam in 117 here in about an hour. But with bears on the move looking for food ,keep yourself moveing ,area to area checking covering as much ground as you can.

Thanks! walking miles in the backcountry and glassing hillsides has proved me nothing but the fact deer and moose are everywhere there. I will try the driving the roads and spotting clear cuts. Will make it a little easier on the feet
