Title: Small Stream Fishing
Post by: bb76 on June 14, 2017, 05:41:39 PM
I'm looking for any recommendations for dispersed camping near a trout stream within an hour or 2 of Tacoma. Looking for solitude more than amazing fishing.
Thanx

It's been a long time since I've been there, but as kids we used to fish some streams near Mt  Rainier.  Was super fun and beautiful.  Now that I write this, I'm thinking I need to bring my kids up there.

Have you considered the upper Yakima or Cle Elum River?  Shouldn't have a problem finding a quiet spot.

Back in the day it was Skate Creek, but I sense that's nothing like it used to be.

the state no longer plants any trout in streams on the west side, which is kind of a bummer.
