Went out of John Wayne with no luck. Weather was awesome and all the banks had plenty of boats on them. The fish checker said only one for the day. Pretty slow on the inside.

Talked to the checker at Deception and he agreed that the hali were pretty much gone before the opener. I gave up after the second trip, lings seemed a far better chance. Looking at the quotas and extra days, it just wasn't a great year the further east you went from Neah.
