Title: White River( Quality elk)
Post by: Greg Mullins on June 18, 2017, 01:06:29 PM: Is it in my best interest to get the Handcock permit? It's been awhile well many years since I've gone up there. In 08 I got the permit to go deer hunting but that's the end of my Handcock experience. My hunting partner thinks the ski slopes are the best bet I'm thinking over around Mutton Mtn or the Mud Mtn area. After 18 years of no elk permits I really want to make it pay off. Any help from you guys is greatly appreciated.

Post by: Falcon on June 18, 2017, 01:48:53 PM: CONGRATS You got a great tag. i would not pay the hammock fee with all of the good country available. i believe the tribes hit the hunting grounds around sep 1 and they hit it hard on the tree farm.
Between Crystal and corral Pass, you have a lot of awesome high alpine to check out, and there will be plenty of bulls to choose from. A few guys on here have some good info on this tag. Hunt it hard and best of luck.

Post by: grade-creek-rd on July 13, 2017, 08:43:55 AM: Isn't Big Crow Basin in the Little Naches?...wrong side of the ridge for the White River...same for the Corral Pass area...make sure the bull is on the correct side of the ridge!
