I picked up a Marlin 1895 in 45/70...... :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:
And I ordered a Vortex 1-4 power and rings (because my eyes are too old to focus on sights and a targetr these days).
:IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:
Should be a fun toy.
Any pointers on where to find plinking ammo at a good price (good being a relative term, since it is a 45/70.)
I don't reload, and don't plan to start.
Thanks,
Dan

Went to ammoseek, buck a round unless you buy a 1000

what a great entry time to get into reloading! you will be surprised at how much you actually save once you are in production.

Best ive seen lately is some hsm "cowboy" rounds at cabelas in the mid-high $20 range per box. $1 a round is cheap, would love to see that...
As the others have said, its a good time to get into handloading. .45-70 is easy to load for and will start saving you money in a hurry.

Thanks all.
I haven't reloaded in 25 years and I seriously dooubt that I'll start again.....
But I will make noise and holes with my new 45/70.

Hay-Hey-Dan-o, I have 2 boxes you can have cheep, one is all lead cowboy stuff and the other is Remington's both at 405gr. And if you pay for the components I can load you what ever you want. :)

Well, a member has offered to reload for me and hopefully with me.
I might just need to get back into reloading.
