Title: Goose Prarie Archery Quality Elk Tag
Post by: Rhino on July 11, 2017, 12:08:18 PM: I drew this tag first try with 8 pts. didnt think it would happen but it did. I haven't hunted it but will work hard to fill tag. I figured I'd hunt it a couple years before I drew a tag there. I dont usually put in for area I don't know. Expecting alot of people so I'm planning on packing in and have a couple places in mind. I've been up there scoutng once and plan on going this weeekend. Any advice or info would be appreciated.

Post by: White Pass Outfitters on July 11, 2017, 12:46:57 PM: If you are going to backpack into an area, only go in as far as you can get a bull out on your back before the meat goes bad. I see to many guys backpack into areas where if they got a bull there is no way they could get it out in time. Boned out bull is still two trips without your gear that you went in with. I have came across elk kills thats guys have left a lot meat because they only wanted to make one trip. And that is illegal !
