Post by: bucknbullhunter on July 14, 2017, 09:13:26 PM
Been hunting this guy for 4 years. Hopefully I can connect this year. Any guess on what he scores??(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170715/5eab065f2782f84c6892ebf32173f495.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170715/5acd08ccf24848558c8b2ffebe6489aa.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170715/ff1a8ec6da66ddce8f7b43aa7fdfb1b9.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170715/02e28f91d9629ab5993318cbd9588178.jpg)

I don't think he will have any problems going 350 plus

I  have it a little lower at 340 but wouldn't be surprised if its bigger. Here's my breakdown - 18-16-17-20-6-47/55 mass and 40

What's your breakdown to get your scores? I might be way off. Dream bull regardless of score!

this was my first thought too. Roughly the same

I'd say pushing 340 to 350. His 5 and 6 are not that impressive yet but his 1, 2, 3 & 4 are nice.

But he's a shooter either way.

i'd say mid 340's, he has good main beam length

If his 5 and 6s catch up to everything else he will be a masher for sure. Either way he is a first day shooter, no dought.

Compared to what ? A 400 inch bull ? Lol for a pure 6 id say he's doing pretty good....seems like if that back fork gets too much bigger they get an extra kicker

His 4th point is only half way up his beam

Almost  :chuckle:

Stud bull! Look at those thirds. He's easily over 360"!

And he looks symmetrical, I think he just doesn't have super long main beams which could drop his gross a bit.

I agree. He's a stud bull most anybody would be thrilled to notch a tag on. If you're picking out faults, I think he's got shorter main beams and he loses size on his back end. AWESOME front end. I also think he's about done growing. He won't get much bigger. His back end is definitely not going to catch up. I'd shoot that bull on the first day anywhere in this state and most any other state.

Beautiful bull, I think he may be a little bigger than most have guessed! Good luck hunting him

This is him from last year. I think his 5 and 6 will be bigger than last year. He still has a few good weeks to grow. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170715/5df7e9eb122360bb42986b96ec432beb.jpg)

As he is now he's 340+ I honestly don't think his 5ths and sixes will grow much more.  If they filled out like the rest I'd say 370 easy!  Needs one more year.  Awesome genetics

Stud bull! Look at those thirds. He's easily over 360"!
Based on what?

I habe a love/ hate opinion on this type of thread.  This bull is a dream bull and I might be way off but those throwing out scores should have done rhyme or reason for doing such.  BTW Jackalope, I agree 100%. Buckandbull what are your thoughts?

Its hard to compare measurements when you've held a 400 bull. No comparisons. :chuckle:

For the area of the state I hunt this is a huge bull. I agree it's hard to throw out a score. But it's fun to see what people think. I think he is a 360 plus bull. It will be fun to see how much he grows the next few weeks.

Keep in mind, he is going to polish those antlers and not look near as impressive as he is in velvet. I think it will be tough for him to get past the 350 mark. His tops are holding him back.  Fronts and thirds are solid.

I would say 340's.   He does not have the mass to get him to the 350's+.  Looking at the G3 and G4 they have the lengths  But the tops are not too big.

Either way,  kill him and let's get him measured.   ;)

What a dandy!! You'll have a great time chasing him this year. Hope you can connect with him! My guess Upper 340s to mid 350s.

When do they stop growing?
Title: Re: Big bull
Post by: Rainier10 on July 17, 2017, 08:31:02 AM
I am guessing 350 and really hope you connect so we will know for sure.  I think those main beams are longer then they appear in the side view.  From the front they sweep out pretty wide and I think that big curve is going to add to the length.

How old do you think the bull is? His body looks long and lanky. Like old bull going down a bit or younger bull not filled out yet. Don't think he's younger looking at those bases. I'm in the 350 range too.

Great bull, hope you kill it. The pics are tough to judge from because any tilt in your cam can grow/shrink parts of him. If you can put straight tc pics instead of pics of pics, would be easier to tell. Good luck. I think 357"
