Too much trash. They'd be too hard to pack out...I'm gonna have to pass...hard pass... :yike:
Freaking awesome photos!! Love the freaks!
-
Fantastic animals. And great work on the photo. Can't imagine that's a camera trap, so good work getting in close without spooking them.
Is it kosher to ask what general area this is in? From the terrain and the radioactive reference, I'm guessing these are Rattlesnake bulls?
I'm so I'm extra jealous of your access to them, even to take photos. And very happy to see such studs in the area.
-
Dang, those are some lunkers! Do you have a side shot of the bull that's farther back?
-
Incredible specimens!
Thanks for sharing!
-
The one in the back looking straight on at the camera just looks old in the face. He has to be about tire of packing that headgear around all these years.
-
I wonder if the horns glow at night? :chuckle:
-
Rez bulls
-
Rez bulls
:yeah: bunch of lazy welfare bulls living off free handouts from uncle sam. :chuckle:
-
Seriously any guesses to some scores?
-
Looks like the have some "Brutus" genes in them..
-
Seriously any guesses to some scores?
The one in back is over 360 and probably north of 370. The one with all the trash I have no idea. :dunno:
-
@time2hunt - How old are the photo's you posted.
This one is from 2010 I believe.
-
Oh boy, timberstalker is on this one too. :hello: I better change my guess to 374 3/8". :chuckle:

I've tried to score him multiple times. My head hurts. :chuckle:
They are amazing specimens.
-
I seriously have no idea where to start. Like I said in the deer thread, trash score all kinds of bonus points with me. They are just cool. I would love to have something non typical on the wall.

busted !

Did PlateauNDN get caught driving off road out on DOE ground??

Not me, I actually get out of the truck and hike. I may not be as fast as most but I still get there.

I have no doubts on your efforts, Plat.

Big Hoss bulls for sure.

Wow! Shoot the one on the left. That crazy rack wins with me.
-
Stunning animals. I wonder what it will take for that herd (or subherd, depending on who's talking) to be opened to harvest.
It's CLEARLY producing quality animals, so....
-
It's open to the wheelers king mountain tabacco. Killed a couple monsters a few years ago and got a driving off road ticket damaging floura and fauna with two trophys in the back of his truck? Sounds fair. Have at it native son!
-
Don't you mean it's open in certain areas to the Yakamas'? There's been Yakamas that I know (not personally) that have hunted there years before Delbert did, they just didn't do it like he did. Hell, I'd love to, but I don't want the attention and chaos that comes with it. I'm fine way up in the mts ways away from prying eyes.

You can hunt this herd every year.

People seem to be leaving the exact location unspoken on here, but I'm speaking more of the ability to hunt this specific location. There's some adjoining private that seems friendly to public hunting but you still need written permission (judging by the WDFW gohunt page), but unless I'm mistaken, this location where the photo was taken, while public land, is closed to all hunting.

Correct. You cannot hunt the location posted in these photos. But you can legally hunt this herd.

Fair enough :chuckle:
Now if I can only find enough time to do the scouting and schmoozing with all the nearby landowners... ;)
-
But wouldnt you need to be drawn for a special permit raffle or buy the auction tag to legally hunt these elk if they roam to an area where it is open

No, the unit they are in is an any bull or any elk (can't remember which) unit. They just need to venture off the hanford site while still staying in the unit, which is doable.

You are correct there are 2 or 3 units they could possibly wander into

Word of warning: it's not just the Hanford Site / Dept of Energy land that's off-limits. The Rattlesnake and Wahluke West units and all the river banks of the Hanford Reach National Monument are closed to all access. The rest of the Monument is open though.

I always thought the river bank up to high water mark was open?
-
Only parts of it

:chuckle: Nice.

Are the Indians able to hunt these elk or is the land closed to everyone?
-
Depending where this is exactly at. But give you a better idea just look up the ceded land map.

Yakama Ceded Land

Fantastic bulls. Good to see those genetics are getting spread out there. Thanks for sharing.
-
When we are forced to repopulate elk herds due to hoof rot and wolves I hope we use these Bulls!!!
-
Zammers that one bull has got some serious trash.
-
Hopefully they all run to GMU 162 Dayton and setup shop there. This way I have plenty to choose from, come Oct. 23rd. LOL
-
That's a really cool photo! I have never seen bulls packed in together like that. Definately a dream experience.
-
A few pics of the glowing bulls. Lol
-
Wow! Just some serious headgear on those bulls!
-
It sucks having a crappy camera in my phone, I'll see if my buddy can send better resolution pics he got, we were 47 yards from these guys at first, they were like 85-90 when I started taking pics.
-
Those are even worse then when viewing them on my phone lol, you guys get the gist though! I'll update em if I can get the better pics from my buddy.
