Title: Yamaha 15 4stroke oil change
Post by: 206 on July 24, 2017, 04:57:29 PM
Last spring after changing fluids, I probably put only 25 hours on it.  It has not run since last fall and I'm debating weather I should change the engine and lower unit oil now.  I will probably only put on another 25 hours or so this fall, and think there shouldn't be any harm in that.  I would change out the oils next spring.  Right now, the engine oil looks fairly clean.

What do you think?

After a calendar year, my vote is yes. At least in my world, fluid maintenance will save a ton of cash up the road.  :twocents:

Great motor! I had the same motor on mt 13 ft Smoker Craft Alaskan.
I changed oils every year along with spark plugs. I consider it inexpensive insurance.
