Title: M48 Long Range in 28 Nosler
Post by: CoryTDF on August 04, 2017, 08:40:57 AM
Well, I decided that it was time for me to buy the gun I felt like I deserve. So, I have a M48 LR on it's way. I'll be starting with the 175 ABLR factory ammunition and moving to hand loads as I have cases to work with.

Who has experience with this setup or a similar one? I see that the 7mm STW is pretty dang comparable to this 28 Nosler and I know a guy who just built one of those. It will be neat to see how they compare.

I run a 7 and 6.5 stw. The 28 nosler will serve you well I am sure.

I have the M48 Liberty in 28 Nosler.

I've had excellent luck with the following load:
80 gns of RL25
160 gn Accubond
3.340 OAL

I've shot several sub .5moa groups.  It's been fun getting the load development dialed in.

Oh and I am a huge nosler fan. Lately both my stw rifles have been fed the eldx. Make sure you load some. I just took my 10th animal with them and there preforming great in a huge range of velocitys and ranges.

Being able to shoot the berger 195 with a .814 coefficient is the only reason I would drop from a .30 cal to the 7mm/.28
