Hey, after watching way too many archery elk videos I am looking at giving it a try next year.
I shot a bow in Boy Scouts about thirty years ago and had a recurve I found in the neighbor's garbage on the way to school which is my sum total experience. I also have a nine year old son that loves shooting his $20 Cabelas special that would be fun to get into it more as well.
I am looking for a solid shop that can get us into a decent first setup, hopefully with a decent selection of used bows as well as at least a place to shoot if not classes or a league.
I see there is Riverside in Mt Vernon, Cabelas and Van Winkles in Everett, any suggestions on where we should go? We live in Arlington.

Riverside's impressed me with their service, selection and lessons offered.

Another vote for Riverside...guys were very helpful and pleasant to deal with!

Riverside is great but a bit of a haul. Consider Nock Point in Shoreline.

Bought my first bow from Riverside and was very happy with the service. They took a good amount of time getting the bow fitted, letting me shoot it, and try a couple different releases. I was a total noob, but I left there feeling like I got exactly what I was looking for, and didn't get oversold.

I've bought a used compound and a new samick sage from Riverside. They do all my work. Also check out Silver arrow Bowmen archery club for a great cheap place to shoot. RIVERSIDE takes care of its customers and supports Silver Arrow Archery Bow Club
