In case you missed it, WDFW is advertising a couple of turkey hunting clinics this weekend at the Union Gap (Yakima) Cabelas. Rich Mann is going to be teaching the class. He's a great guy to talk to about getting started turkey hunting, and the history of the WA flocks.

Pre-registration is not required.
Also, Aaron Garcia with the WDFW is the mentored hunt coordinator. If you or someone you know would like to sign up for a mentored hunt, his contact info is on the same link. They also do mentored hunts for other species.

I signed up for a mentored hunt and Aaron was great in coordinating dates. My mentor Chris did a great job and I had an awesome experience.
I'd totally recommend the mentored hunting program for 1st time or inexperienced hunters!

I'm really glad to hear this! Thanks for sharing your experience. :)

So far this year we have had over 60 people sign up for the mentored hunts, I have gotten most of them out with different mentors. I took out 8 myself and we were able to harvest 7 birds. It has been really fun and rewarding. I will be setting up Spring mentored hunts soon. Next year First Hunt Foundation will be doing deer mentoring for youths and waterfowl hunts.
I really have to thank the network of mentors and private landowners that are helping out, without them I couldn't make any of this happen.
