Just for fun. My sister-in-law and her boyfriend went hiking on the Naches Peak loop off Chinook Pass yesterday, and got to watch this little one from about 30 yds.
I guess the little guy has already figured out that humans aren't very dangerous within National Park boundaries :).

Cool pics. Reminds me of my experience a few years back. We were on our way to Rimrock during Labor Day weekend and carved some time for a hike on the loop trail. My gf needed to find some privacy for a bathroom break so I suggested she just drop out of sight of all the folks lunching on the rocks.
When she returned she told me about a strange noise she couldn't identify. Said she climbed down through some thick stuff to try for a picture of the mystery sound maker. But something made her feel uneasy about it..
The sound.....hufff,hufff, she was tracking a bear in the berries. She was :yike:
Still laugh about it...
