Sounds like fun, I'm not in that area curious what scope you're running. I've got a monocular and looking at scopes next.

I just have a Sightmark Photon 4.6 with a t-20 illuminator, I'm good out to about 150-175. I also have a LCD screen wired up to the video output, so I don't have to look thru the scope.  Its handy so you dont have to deal with the eye relief and transitioning from thermal to the gun. I have a helmet rig for my thermal it really messes with your eye when you look through it for a period of time.  Someday I'll upgraded to a thermal scope, if you have the $ go with a Pulsar XP50, that what I plan on getting.  Do you have a tri-pod set up?

I had to lookup what a pulsar xp50 is. You would have to really want to shoot coyotes to spend 5 Gs on a scope!!

It's amazing what you see at night that isn't out during the day!! Most yotes are fearless at night, watching yotes come into your call during daylight hours is why everyone is hooked on this great sport, but seeing a coyot come into your call in total darkness, now that is something that you'll get hooked on. For me it's a whole new level of hunting.  It's just another expensive hobby.

I free hand my monocular it's a 5x digital, and I know what you mean it messing with your vision. It gets bright enough that the eye I'm looking through doesn't adjust right away so I feel blind for minute or so. I was looking at an ATN smart digital scope, but what I really want is a military grade forward mount nv adapter. I like the idea of not having to change out sights, but price is a quite high.

It's an ATN dvnm-5 I think maybe a 6. It's decent for the price.

Just picked up an atn Thor 640 2.5x-25 thermal and an x sight 2 day/night. I would be interested in putting something together.

This is something I've been strongly considering so when I saw this video I had to share. It's a good break down of night vision vs thermal.

Don’t do it, go all thermal, trust me.  It’s a lot of $ but well worth it if your gonna spend the time out night calling
