I had a disc extreme that keyholed badly. I finally sent it back to Knight. They took it to the range and confirmed that it didn't shoot well. So after a long wait (because the guy I was working with either quit or was fired) they sent me my rifle back with a new barrel. But it does not fit the stock. The lug is too tall. It didn't fit in my other stocks either....ramrod would fall out and barrel would tilt back and forth even when the screw was tight. :dunno:
So they sent me another barrel. Now I have 2 new barrels that don't fit any of my stocks! LOL So I bought 2 Ultralights because hunting season is fast approaching.
Strangely, the new Disc Extreme barrels fit perfectly into the Ultralight stocks, (better than the UL barrels) but not into the old Disc Extreme stocks. So I'm thinking they've redesigned the Barrels and stocks? Anybody know anything about this?
My Son's Littlehorn fits perfectly into my old Disk Extreme (mountaineer) thumbhole stock. Now it''s a bad-ass little brush carbine with great forward weight for off-hand shooting. And I'll bet it sets off the caps every time, since is totally smashes them!
Also, the UL barrels actually get pushed back into the stock when shooting, causing the bolt release pin to get jammed against the cut-out in the stock so tight it won't work! I thought the aluminum bedding block added precision? If you push the barrel all the way back while tightening the screw, the bolt release pin is jammed and won't slide. I'm gonna have to file the stock to make the pin cutaway larger or something. And I had two cap mis-fires (out of ten) when shooting. One was on the very first shot.
