I am headed out to the Curlew/Malo area next week for the first time. The plan is to hunt but mainly use this time to scout for late season archery. Like I said I've never been to the area, I only have my explorer this trip. How are the roads in the area?

I'll be in the area for muzzy next week. I'll let you know what I see. Whatcha hunting?
-
Already went roads were fine. I hope your lucky is better for deer than man. I did not see one buck on public land, it was fairly disappointing. Bear is another story all I can say is wow!

Yeah, LOTS of bears. We were over there a few weeks ago, we hardly saw any deer, which was really weird.
-
Early archery we seen bear but no deer. 2 young deer near town. My game cams only had 1 buck hanging around all this year. It has really got bad over the last few years. :bash:

I've heard the same from friends in colville, bear and not much else seen. Hopefully the weather this coming week will change things. Anyone see any elk sign? Thanks for the roads report

I'd be happy with a Bear over there the one and only Bear I have shot was there and it was the best game meat I have ever had! Hot and dry equals Deer not moving around. Heard from a family member that has a friend doing some work over there and they were seeing Deer daily early and late. :twocents:

All the fields were clear by 7am and the temps were low thirties in the morning.
