A friend and I have been very close to this bull a few times. Once ranged at 29 yards but no shot opportunity.
Any guesses on age or score from the HW crowd?
-
He looks like he has 3 nostrils? Or took an antler through the nose? Nice looking bull!
-
Thirds for days! Nice! I'd say mid 370s
-
He'd score really high next to mashed taters with bacon rolled around his round steaks. :cue:
-
I'd put him around 350" that bull is awesome looking good luck.
-
Big enough to fill the freezer

I guess him at OLD and HUGE.
Good luck. I hope you get to put a tape to him.
-
:yike: he is an old tank! Big bodied old bull.
-
Not sure about age but score wise 370+ all day gross
-
320-330 gross, old big bodied bull, but really only a 5x6 with some little stickers, and not exceptionally wide, but he is heavy and long. A shooter for sure. Good luck
-
358. 20"+ thirds will help. Lots of mass on this one. The length on the top is going to hold him back a little.

This is my guess....Maybe 340 on a long day
-
This bull is a prime example of why sometimes the score doesn't matter at all. He probably is a 330 to 350 bull, but his character makes him more appealing then larger bulls.
-
I think those thirds give back anything his tops give away. I think he'll be 350" plus.
-
He is a shooter for sure, if you think about him having no little character stickers, he would just be a five point, and there are not many five's that score much above 320 and even less that would go 370, if any. But his character makes him a stud old bull, shooter for sure
-
Looks 340 gross to me, but score doesn't matter. Stud bull.

He's only really 5-with-stickers on his passenger side. Driver's side he is a more than solid 6 point. Plus the extras. Looks to me like a 360's class bull that is only missing one foot long tine (his G5). I'd still put him at 350". I still think his thirds and his mass will make up for whatever he lacks on that 5 point antler. Plus, if we are talking gross score, those stickers will add a couple of inches too.
-
I'm going with 350" give or take 10" if we're talking gross scores.
Tons of mass, those 3rd's and all those little extras will add up quick.
-
Might need extra salt to eat that tough old critter. Would score number one in my book.
His backend would screw up his score, but I sure the heck wouldn't care
-
I am with bone, post rut soon, old. Sharpen the blades on your grionder
-
i bet he is recessed from last year.
-
I think Miles needs to shoot this guy so we can settle this dispute regarding the score... :chuckle:
-
Looking forward to the story. And the official score.
-
Any guesses on this year’s score? Started the thread with 2017 pics, here’s some from 2019.
-
Man you need to kill that bull! Cool looking as ever, awesome length and short mains. 347-353" but go kill him and prove me as being too conservative :P
Looks like he definitely wasn't regressed in 2017 :chuckle:

He is a tank. Colorado location?

He’s a boss!

Nice Bull, Thanks for sharing!! Always fun to see how much they grow from one year to the next.
-
Wow 29 yards that is awesome!

Wow 29 yards that is awesome!
I got to 15 yards this year and had a better outcome. I’m very fortunate to have drawn the tag this year and even more fortunate to have found him still alive. The day draw results came out, the first thing I wondered about was if he had made it the last two years. There’s a lot of history with this guy and someone else had came very close to harvesting him years ago (I now have their broadhead).
With this bull score really means nothing, but I am surprised at how close some individuals can get.
-
Awesome. Pictures? Did he have three nostrils like the one pic made it look.

Congrats! That's amazing.

That's a dandy hope there is still some left.

Yes, he is actually missing a chunk of bone and was breathing through that hole. I’ll write up the details tonight and post some pictures.
-
Congratulations!! I get 358 but that could be thrown off by the fact that he’s 1400#
-
Congrats! Looking forward to it!
-
Congratulations, Miles! Can't wait to see your pics.

I've got a really crappy pic of a bull with a unique right side on him...looks dang similar for sure!!

I think you should call Plat and give him the whole story.. He can wax poetic for you. I sense a long legendary tale of hunting a Pegasus in the deep dark corners of the unknown coming.

My apologies for taking so long. Long work days...

How about a little teaser ....What Brodhead was the previous unlucky hunter using :chuckle:

The lump down low behind the shoulder is where the broadhead was. It can be seen in both of these pictures from 2017.
-
Wow! Thats practically the sweet spot. Someone must've been pretty sick after that shot didn't lead to a bull down!
-
Maybe the shot was an extreme downward angle and didn’t hit vitals? :dunno:
Those animals are tough
-
Maybe woodland fairies crapped pixie dust and a story was told with kill pics included... :sry:
I need a Snickers.
-
Very cool unique bull! Congratulations.
-
I think maybe it really scores like 470 and he’s not allowed to release the pics yet :)
But...score Doesn’t matter in this case at all. But it does score...GIANT!!
-
Congratulations  8)
-
Ok miles this is getting a little absurd! Out with it already :chuckle:

I just snickered reading this! :chuckle:

Up and off to work again. I’ve been really short on time lately as I’m trying to get things done before Colorado deer/elk season starts. Working for an airline at an airport that’s growing like crazy doesn’t help with spare time. I’ll post some pics then come back and fill in some of the story/details.
I’ve attempted to post pictures from my phone 3 or 4 times but I think they are too big to attach. So I’ll try screenshots...

We probably have 50 or so trail camera pics of him over the last 3 years. Here are some more of those.

What a stud bull! Amazing thirds
-
Awesome bull and some great trail cams as well, congratulations on taking a great bull!
-
Nice old warrior of a bull. Battle scares & healed wounds with broadheads stuck where they should've killed Him! Amazing how tuff these animals are sometimes.
