Really slow today. A lot of sign and rubs . Did not hear anything bugle till late. Right at dark. Far away
Did see 3 bears. Mom and 2 cubs 40 yards away. That was cool
But no elk. Not even a cow. Day 1 in the books.
-
It will turn around.
-
@soccerftw
-
Talked to a 5x6 and a cow Tuesday in teanaway

-
I will never let anyone take me down Posting pictures
-
My Elk.
-
nice bull would shoot him in a second if had tag
-
Nothing wrong with him. Not a monster but meat in the freezer is never a bad thing.
-
Great Bull, Congrats.
-
Looks and sounds like it was a successful hunting trip on many accounts. Congratulations!
-
They weren't your friends if that's the way they're going to treat you. going solo on a hunt, any animal is a trophy.
HATERS GONNA HATE
-
Looks like a trophy to me. Congrats, Monster.
-
Congrats!
And as for the friends...the handful of true ones will be there for life. The others will stab you in the back and cause drama. No need for them.
Solo is inviting and peaceful!
Hunt your way and fill your tag.
-
It's YOUR hunt. Your so-called friends can go :pee: up a rope
-
There is a lot to the saying "any bull is a good bull", especially if you've eaten tag soup season after season.
-
Awesome! Meat in the freezer. If your pleased with your bull enough said! Congrats 👍🏻
-
Way to go! Nice Bull!
-
Way to go Monster! There are very few hunters that are able to get a Bull any given year & you did this DIY!! I am happy for you. Welcome to the club!! :salute: Sorry you didn't have more help. I know you have helped many on this site. Congrats!
-
Losing friends because of a successful elk hunt is no loss at all.
Congrats on your elk man!
-
My Elk.
 Nice! I hope to draw that tag someday.
-
Confucius:
Meat in the freezer beats a tag in the garbage!
-
Way to go! Nice bull, one I would have gladly put my tag on. I never saw an elk when I had a branch bull tag in the Observatory...Corngrats!
-
Congrats man :IBCOOL: I hunt solo most the time. Always there to help but don't get much in the field help as well. Killing a elk solo is a great thing and good for you getting it done. In 13 years of hunting Washington I still have not killed a bull in this state. Handful of flat tops but that's it. Be proud of your bull :IBCOOL:
-
Congrats on a grrat hunt and a great bull!!
-
Looks like a quality elk to me. Congrats!
-
Nice bull, anytime you can bag an elk diy public land, much less solo, you did something right.
-
Monster I'm very happy you were able to fill your tag, ANY Elk is a good Elk!
-
Totally agree with mkcj, any elk is a trophy! And getting it done solo is special! Congrats on a great bull
-
Congrats. Eats better than tag soup and will alway be a great memory of hunting solo.
-
Congratulations can't wait for the pics!

:yeah: My husband drew that tag last year. It's not a cakewalk of a unit if you don't know it well. We lucked out big time getting the bull the husband ended up getting. Most hunters wouldn't ever get a chance at a bull elk like your elk Monster, I would be proud. Congrats
-
Congrats! As long as you had a good time that's all that matters. In the end it's your tag! You pulled the trigger your choice! Who gives a *censored* what others think!
-
Nicely done. Solo I bet you put in some sweat equity! Thanks for sharing and :yeah: about anyone that you mentioned.
-
Congrats! Nice bull!
-
-
Job well done, congrats!
-
Nice bull, the trophy is in the eye of the beholder. There aren't 400" bulls behind every tree even though some may flame you because the potential was there for a bigger set of antlers. You got a couple hundred pounds of meat and a bull at home, which is better that 95% of the other hunters that will have tag soup this year. Congrats on your trophy and a successful hunt.
-
Thats a great bull, heck it's way bigger than any elk I've killed since 2009
-
Nice bull. I bet it eats way better than my colockum any bull archery tag that I still have in my wallet.
-
Nice bull, Man!
-
Nice Bull and job well done being solo

I bet it does!
Nice bull! It is great that someone you didn't know helped out, nice to know there are still good people out there.
