Title: Newbie saying hello
Post by: TikkaRounds on September 26, 2017, 01:12:29 AM
:hello: Hello Everyone!  I am so glad to be joining you.  This is my first year hunting fresh out of the hunter safety course.  It has taken my husband time and much patience to bring me to this point and I can say I am excited.  I've done a lot of reading and know that it is going to take extra work and precision to fill my tag.  I'll be hunting with a .243 Tikka T3X Superlite.  I sighted her in on Friday, love it!  It has been amazing learning what I can about blacktail deer.  Sure hope to spot some.  I'd be happy to have just that my first year out.  This year will be more for learning the woods and the animal but I'm keeping my lead to the paper just in case I get my chance.

Thanks for the knowledge you bring to the forums.  I've enjoyed seeing/reading prior hunts and the stories behind them.  Maybe I'll be blessed to add my own one day.

Focus on hunting for the experience  and not the critter and you will come home successful a lot more often.   Welcome to the adventure.

Welcome!  :hello: I always get excited when a new female hunter joins the ranks! it sounds like you have a great attitude about hunting already, it's not always about the animal taken but time spent in the field and amongst loved ones. Hope you have an awesome season and share the experience with us whether a tag gets filled or not. Also come hang out in the women's board, we're a pretty awesome group of huntress and there's no boys allowed  :chuckle:

Thanks!  It is a new world to me.  The kids and I went to up to the hunting camp with my hubby and a friend of ours last year a few times and really enjoyed it.  Just got the last of my gear (or at least I hope so) for this year.  It'll be nice to connect with other female hunters :-)  See ya around.  Thanks again!
