Title: Aiming point.
Post by: emac on September 26, 2017, 12:26:02 PM
So as i transition from archery season to muzzy season i am just wondering where should you aim on an animal from a treestand. I usually hunt spot and stock for muzzy so my smoke pole is sighted in at 100 yards. But i have a couple good bucks on cam that i havent sealed the deal with yet during archery that i am planning on hunting during muzzy.  My stand is probably 20-25 up and about 20 yards to the target area. So would you aim low when shooting that close.

I probably will just use my bow when i am in the stand but am still curious on the shorter downhill shot

This might help some...

But to be honest with you - with a ML shooting out of a tree stand at closer ranges - I wouldn't make much of an adjustment at all!  Long range and steep angles yes!  If you have a range finder many of them will tell you the range to aim for even on steep angles.

So looking at that graph at a short distance shooting down hill there is not much change in the trajectory. I do have a range finder but its an old one and doesnt have the angle feature.  Thanks. As long as i am reading that right it will help
