Just moving back from the Portland area after flight instructing for a year. Heading to potholes Friday and Saturday. Have people been having any success out there? I’ve always struggled a little during the colder months. Figure I’ll troll bottom bouncers or flicker shad until I find them and then try blade baits once I’ve found them. I have heard lots of people refer to fishing the dunes, however I am not sure where they are. Would they be labeled on a Navionics map?

"The Dunes" is pretty much the whole north portion of the lake.
Google Earth will show you what the dunes look like:

you would be better off fishing the face of the dunes this time of year. To low to get back in the dunes. look for the boats. there is always a few out there. anywhere from the st park to crab creek. And yes if you find a hump that has fish, definitely give the blades a go. The numbers are way down do to over harvesting so if you catch any of those bigger fish, Please give some thought into releasing them.

Thanks for the info! And yes good point about C&R. I fish walleye more so for the sport and not so much for the food :)
