Title: Jolly mtn fire, Teanaway GMU 335
Post by: slowhand on October 19, 2017, 11:13:11 AM
My boy is back from the Marine Corps For a few weeks. I took him up on 510 StormKing  Sunday the 15th and We did not see a single Deer.
We have decided to hunt this weekend up above Lake Cle Elum
in our old mule deer hunting area. Looking for any reports of conditions, closures, anything would be helpful.
We are planning to hunt 510 stormking again but on the 25th and 26th (I took a couple days off to try and get his Deer)
This is His last chance before He is deployed for Who knows how long.
Anything helps. Thanks

It's open in most places up there. Been raining like crazy. Your not going to see many deer in that area either. A buddy went up there Monday and counted 43 trucks up past the lake. Saw no deer and one bull elk. Good luck

Sounds to Me like I am going to be better off with My plan "B".  :bash:
I will hunt the Peoh Point area and above instead. I had a feeling that the masses would Be all over that area. I appreciate the heads up. Thank You

First off Slow, thank your son for us. Our Marines are so awesome, and your family for the sacrifices they've made with a son serving his country. Secondly, I wouldn't be much help because I don't know any of those areas. But, I have little doubt someone on this forum will jump up to help. Good luck!  :salute:

He is the first in our family to serve, Did it all on his own. Picked the Marines after doing his own interviews of all the branches. He said and says it's where The real Warriors are. (No disrespect to any of the other branches)
It has been hard on His Mom to say the least. I don't worry about Him much because I feel confident I did a good job molding who He is. Smart, strong, tough, and won't take any *censored*.
No question the proudest moment in My entire life to this point was His graduation day at the Marine Corp training facility. I could not hold back the tears. From a little Jerk of a kid to a respectful man. Unbelievable the change they did on Him. I honestly think every kid of age should have to serve. It is quite an experience.
The Stories He has told me about the marines are truly crazy. If any of You have ever had a glimps behind the curtain You know what I am talking about.
Now We are off to fill that darn Tag. We leave tonight wish us luck!

Update
Hunted above lake cle elum Saturday morning after all. Only a couple of trucks up on the hill.
Didn't see a single deer. 2inches of snow came down.
Got to love the snow hunting!
Hunted Pioh point for the evening hunt. Lots of deer tracks and elk tracks in the new snow. Saw one elk on the hill and four Deer down in private land.
We all had a great time just enjoying the the snow covered woods.
