Title: Rail and scope ring height for Ruger American Predator
Post by: GurrCentral on October 24, 2017, 07:25:26 PM: Hey all, I recently purchased a Ruger American Predator in 6.5C. Here is my plan: put a EGW 20moa rail, and mount a Vortex Viper HS-T on the Vortex Precision Matched rings. My question is what height of rings should I get? The 0.87 inch or 0.97 inch (medium)?? I have the medium height with the same scope on my Howa .308, but curious if the lower rings would make much difference? Thanks!

Post by: Yondering on October 26, 2017, 04:49:12 PM: You want the low rings. The shape of the American stock needs the scope mounted as low as you can get without touching the barrel.

That is the word I got from Vortex. I have the medium rings on my Howa 308, but may try the low rings on the Ruger.
