Title: Mauser Model 98 - Year, info, etc.

Have a German Mauser M98 with the letters (lowercase) "bcd" stamped on top of the receiver above the number "4." Serial number on barrel is 29384 to the right of an eagle with NO swastika under (empty ball in talons) -

Anyone help me get started on the research here? Thanks a million - M.D. Johnson

it was made at the Gustloff-Werke in Weimar( pronounced Vymar) in 1945.

What chambering? 8mm or 7x57?
