The new pup is coming along. Copper has just under a 100 retrieves for the season. Still a work in progress and pretty good for a 5-1/2 month old pup. I know many don't like to start them this young and advise against it, but he has the drive and likes the treat afterwards. Given it is mainly field hunting, it isn't to taxing like an open water retrieve would be. I will send him off after the season to a trainer as well.

Right on!
Good looking pup!

That's awesome! Where did you get your pup from? I'm hunting my 7 month old lab on upland this year and he is doing great. I have also heard not to start them that early, but I think it all depends on the dog.

Looks like fun. That pup retrieving geese? Seems too big for his mouth. Took my lab a while to pickup the honkers.

He grabbed the geese by the wing and was dragging them back. He kept trying to pick them up but would end up with just a mouth full of feathers.
