Title: Malaga Youth Cow Permit-help needed
Post by: mossyhead on November 02, 2017, 01:02:23 PM
Hello,
I have been scouting on 2 seperate trips now in the Malaga and have not seen an animal. I have secured permission to hunt on two private pieces of land also, but no elk seen on them as well. I would love to get some insight on a good place to start- as all of my ideas have not panned out lately. Anyone been in the area lately and seen elk movement. We will be hunting from November 8-12.....thanks.

elk are down on private or up high deep in thick cover, after Saturday they'll move back up! Set up along public and private land, hiding in tall sage brush too! Do lots of glassing hard to spot them! But there there, left early due to unforeseenable , circumstances. Good luck!

I drive out there often to visit growers and see elk elk time. How old is the hunter? I might be able to secure permission for you

I know that area very well. Let me know if you need some advice and maybe I can help. But with general just about over I am sure they are scattered but may have time to get back in there to relax.
