First off Colockum is a zoo, Beacon Rd sounded like I-90 until Tuesday. My dad, father in law and I all drew cow tags and hunt reservations for the wind farm Wednesday-Friday. We spike hunting before Wednesday and saw alot of elk mostly branched bulls and a orange blimp or 3 on every ridge. But Wednesday we all headed to the wind farm and hunted Whiskey Dick canyon before sun up, I headed all the way to the end of the road some 4+ miles and shot my cow around 8. I could hear the other 2 say they were chasing elk up the canyon towards the road and by the time I got the head out my father in law got one. Then my dad and I headed back in with the game cart to get mine out and a herd was just chillin 300 yards off the road so he snuck up behind them and boom cow down. We got his out whole and finally went back in for mine and didn't get back to the truck until 11pm. Logged over 20 miles that day and we were dead tired.

Wow what are the odds. Sounds like a good hunt.

I was up there the 31st seen 2 cows with calves, but headed west, went east at wind horse, below pine trees no signs! Only elk I saw in that area! Glad you filled your tags, cows are good eat in!

We probably saw 50+ elk at wild horse wind farm on Wednesday, no spikes tho. We felt very lucky to draw 3 of the 100 cow tags.

3 elk in one day and a 6 1/2 hour pack out, hardest thing I've done to date. Good times with my son

Congrats! Glad you all punched your tags.
