It is not a matter of I hope I see an animal, its more like which one do I want to shoot. Knowing it would be hard to top last years 10 x 8 Mulie this year I wanted to focus on my long range shooting. Long range to me is anything over 300 yards out to 500 yards. Getting another new 6.5 Creedmore set up this summer I was anxious to put it to the test, since my October was busy putting clients on their animals. I was not to be disappointed. I found my Antelope standing broadside to me at 427 yards according to my Leica rangefinder. I took the shot and saw some dust kick up behind him and he just stood there. Wondering why he didn't go with the rest of the herd I chambered another round about that time Laura my spotter said look at him he doesn't seem right as I picked him up again in my scope his knees buckled and down he went. Cool my longest shot ever.
A few days later I decided it was time to go fill my General Deer tag ( I also have two B tags as well) after watching many animals we saw 3 does walk up on a ridge followed by a respectable buck. Thinking if they stop on the ridge that will be my shot, they stopped! We ranged them at 476 yards, there is my shot. I touched off the round and he just collasped right where he stood down in his tracks. As we were going up to him I was asked where do you think you hit him? I was going for a neck shot and that is right where I hit.
I would like to thank my good friend Peter for setting this rifle up for me and the Hunt Wa. member who's name I can't remember who sold me his Leica rangefinder after my Vortex failed the year before while hunting with another Hunt Wa member.

Bigshooter, The rut is defiantly on up here on the "highline" out scouting today we saw many nice shooters that could of cared less we were watching them, they were focused on their babes. Have a great trip out here and good luck to you.
SkookumHntr. Yes it is an X-Bolt. Browning made 17 Left Handed All Weather in 6.5 Creedmore for the 2017 Shot Show. I was fortunate enough to get number 16...
