The stock sights keep working loose even with locktight. There poorly made and the front sight fiber optic is too big! anyone know of a good quality replacement?
-
I also need new sights for my Optima. Not sure I want a peep sight though. Just never can get used to them. Although it would probably be best now that I'm almost 50 and my eyesight is getting pretty bad up close.

I run the ace in the hole by Williams on both my optima and my accura. Doesn't help with the front sight though.

I put williams fire sight front in my cva wolf. The front post was to tall, hasn't loosened up in me yet. I have a peep installed as far back as possible. At least a hundred rounds with the peep and 60 with the new front post and no signs to loosening.

I've had the same issue with my optima. A buddy went with the williams peep in back and the fire sight in the middle. So I just did the same. Gonna shoot it this weekend.

This is has my attention. I would love to see how a dual peep works out. My thoughts are it could really be irrelevant or keep you in better alignment.

Yep, I'm excited to see the results. I've never shot anything with this kind of set up.

My eyes are getting pretty bad, so I put the Williams peep on the back of my Optima, with the CVA front sight. I missed a nice buck at close range because of this setup, and my son did the same on opening day of muzzy season. At close range, the rear sight with the huge front sight completely blocked the front half of the buck. He was at about 30 yards. Easy shot. No buck fever. I looked up to verify where the deer was, since I could see him through the sight. Then I peeped again. The buck's tail was swishing and he was getting jittery. I felt pressure to get a shot off. What a fiasco. I'm making a change. Maybe a finer bead on the front will help....?

Dang Smokepole, that's too bad. I'll keep that in mind as i try this new set up...

I too hate the clunky stock fiber optic sites on my optima. I switched to this:

And LOVE it! Made a perfect double lung shot at 115 yds 20 min before last shoot time (low light). Be sure to read all the comments in the Article for specific part numbers for CVA. I did have to do some shims on the rear peep.

Well, I did get another chance during rifle season & connected with cross hairs. Next year I doubt I'll put in for a multi season tag, so I'll need to get these peep sight thing figured out!
