Title: Slowhand’s Late Black tail hunt 2017
Post by: slowhand on November 16, 2017, 08:25:44 PM
Day one.
Up early 4am to be exact. At the gate early 4:30am and started the Deer burger hill
Climb. Snow started falling at about the 4 mile mark and just kept coming down.
Had three deer standing in the middle of the logging road an hour before shooting light. Not sure if there was a buck in the group or not. I just continued the climb and they walked to the side and let me pass. Popular gate today, set a new record of 8 according to the “tree farm” guy terry. I hunted all day with only one doe that I just couldn’t grow horns on. First one in and last one out today. Terry was nice enough to track Me down and give Me a 7 mile ride down the hill. Thanks Terry
There was a nice three point taken out of one of the clear cuts today and terry said he had a spike standing in the road. Terry only shoots trophy class black tail so of course he let him walk. Everyone was seeing deer today. Hopefully tomorrow I can find some horns. Waiting for fellow forum member to arrive so I can show him around tomorrow.
