Title: DPMS AR 10 Question
Post by: PA BEN on December 03, 2017, 05:54:25 PM
I'm a newbe to AR's. I have a DPMS AR 10 and am looking for a drop in trigger. Something good but I don't want to break the bank. Also I shoot left handed, both sides of the lower are marked fire or safe. Can I just swap the sulecter switch through the other side or do I need to get a left handed one?

I run a CMC trigger in my mega Maten. I really like it and it won't break the bank. I'd run an ambi safety selector if I was in your shoes. If you're close to centralia stop by http://tacticalblackoutgroup.com
I used to work with the owner before he opened up his own shop, he'll help you with whatever you can think up. I bought my trigger through him as well.

Here's a link for drop in trigger. also free shipping on everything.

The safety not sure about, cause I'm not a lefty, but if there's a hole for detent and spring on both sides the I would say yes .It's pretty funny I live a lot closer to you than you may think.

This would solve your safety problems real quick.

I have a couple CMC triggers in AR's and they've been great so far, no complaints.  There's a lot of really good drop in triggers for AR's out there so it'll somewhat depend on how much you want to spend but for a good trigger that won't cost you a lot, the CMC triggers work well for me.

I really like the CMC 2/2, two stage flat trigger.

Then if you wanna go dirt cheap you do this.

https://www.midwayusa.com/product/698675/jp-enterprises-enhanced-reliability-trigger-spring-kit-ar-15-3-1-2-lb

https://www.midwayusa.com/product/407819/ar-stoner-enhanced-trigger-group-ar-15-lr-308-small-pin-154-single-stage

Then lots of YouTube on how to polished ar trigger , no everybody got the big money,if if you got a lot of ar15 triggers to buy this is always an option.

You can't turn the safety switch around, your options are deal with it or get an ambidextrous switch.

I bought a pair of Rock River triggers a few months back, phenominal 2 stage trigger, specially for the price this place sells them for it is hard to beat.

They make 2 variations
Match trigger is 4.5#
Varmint trigger is 3.5#

I put a LaRue MBT trigger in an Aero M5 .308 I built. I really like it. I have a Geiselle SSA in my AR, it's also nice, but the LaRue is much cheaper, and I feel it has a more distant border between the two stages. The LaRue has a thicker trigger too (side to side), if that means anything to you. If you're patient, you can wait on LaRue to do a sale on their triggers. If you get on their mailing list they'll let you know when they're going on. They sell them for $99 on sale, $125 if you want to order it now and are willing to wait for them to make, or like $200 if you want it now. I believe they structure the price like that because they have to change around the tooling to make them. So outside of someone wanting one right now, they'll just wait make a bunch of triggers all at once, which is usually when they'll have sales to get rid of excess. It usually comes around 3-4 times a year.

My rock river 3.5lb trigger came today. I dropped it in and it sure has a nice feel. Breaks like glass. Can't wait to shoot it. I also picked up 2 20 round PMags at a great sale price.
Thanks lamrith
