Title: 1976 Remington Model 700 BDL .30-06 value
Post by: tbrady on December 19, 2017, 09:33:47 AM
Hi All-

I'm trying to get an idea what a rifle I am considering selling is worth.  The gun digest says good condition is $325 but I've seen some selling for a couple of hundred more than this.  I'm curious if anyone knows if there are other factors (e.g. manufacture date) that I need to take into account.

thanks!
tim

I don't think I'd let it go for less than $400 if it's truly in good condition. Those older 700's are probably better quality than the newer ones anyway.

Thanks guys... yeah, been looking at gunbroker quite a bit already.  I'm surprised some are selling as high as they are.

It's worth what someone is willing to pay.

There is a big difference between what is being asked and what the actual selling price ends-up being.

Looking through that link, it shows people's "asking prices" are up there, but if you look closer at the number of rifles that have actual bids, most are none.  The ones that do have bids on them are substantially lower amounts.

It's worth what someone is willing to pay.

Pretty well sums it up...

Things that come into play are overall condition, special edition, custom shop work such as engraving, rare caliber, type and grade of stock wood....

Unless it has any of the extra or special conditions, I think bobcat is pretty much spot on.

Any pictures of it??
