Just looking for some different ideas/perspectives. Primarily for areas in the blues. First two choices would definitely be for archery then muzzleloader for the last two.
Thanks for any help,

YOu are sitting pretty good, I have more points but wish I had the multi season you got! Everyone know the Blues are good/great but very few tags that makes it real tough to draw. Dayton ,Tucannon and Mt View have way more tags than the Wenaha units for starters. If you don't have pack animals or don't want to hire an outfitter to pack you in I strongly suggest you don't put the east wenaha down as a choice, it is tough wilderness country that you won't be able to justify the tag on foot and then to get an elk out before it spoils would be a miracle. The Blues are tough country to hunt and every year tags go unnotched so its not a slam dunk, its still hunting so do your research and pick the units that fit your style of hunting and what you can handle and enjoy. I was helping on a muzzie hunt there last fall with a guy who put in just because I had killed a big bull there the year before and he got lucky and drew a bull tag. I can almost guarantee that he and his partner will never hunt the Blues again after that hunt chasing bugle into the steep nasty stuff and he was lucky to kill a bull. Don't mean to be negative, the BLues are awesome just be prepared. Good luck nwhunter

I would just buy a point and wait. Then maybe some of us with less points would draw!!! :)

Put the Colockum down for your first choice. They have better genetics than the Yakima herd. Plus the elk are not pressured since for ML's it's permit only. Also few archers hunt it since it's spike only. Bull elk in the Colockum are not very hard to find. They are easy to call since there isn't any pressure and it wouldn't be hard especially with a ML to find a 350 class bull. Plus with all the road access it's easy to scout.

Wenaha west is the best archery hunt in the state hands down.
Wenaha west archery
Wenaha west Muzz
Dayton Muzz

Don't you live a stones throw from the Little Naches? That would be my first choice, muzzleloader or early rifle. There aren't general seasons in there until general rifle, and the genetics are fabulous. Rimrock is hit too hard with general seasons, in my opinion. Clockum, I thought the tribe has shot all of the big bulls in the clockum? At least that seems to be the opinion on this website.

There is no way I would even think about applying for anything except the blues. My choices would be wenaha east and tucannon archery and muzz in any order.

Blues then if you live around Naches I would put in for that unit, i'm sure you know of the quality that it has.

Do you need horses's for wenaha west or can you have a good hunt on boot? 12 pts this year like to draw an archery tag. What do you think?

you want horses or about 6 guys that are willing to pack meat for 3 miles or so.
