right now its got 255's on it. What is the biggest you can run without changing anything (lift-spacers)?
265's........285's ?

255s are pretty nice, and they are the closest thing to a 33x9.5 you can get. Always loved that size because you can use stock wheels.

The tires on those AEV Pintler wheels are 255/80/17's and I ran them on my 09 Rubicon a couple weeks before I installed the AEV 2.5 in lift without any issues.  But, that particular tire size, even though it's a 33, is pretty narrow and I'm not sure you could run a wider tire like a 33/12.50 without it possibly rubbing a little though.

so I am hearing that a 285/70r/17 on a 17x9 5-5/5.5 wheel will work on a stock '2015 wrangler.  Thoughts?

@Special T ......IIRC your THE tire guy right?

The one finger wave? LOL
Yeah, That’s a pain in the rear. I grew up with a 71 FJ40, wanted one again, but modern comforts won out.

There's a Wrangler code of ethics. You have to wave to each other. It's sort of a law. A code of conduct.

It's funny, way back when I had my first CJ5 nobody did that, all jeeps wave stuff.  Then years later when I bought my first Wrangler everyone was doing the wave but I've always been a hold out and kinda thought it was stupid so I was an anti-waver.  In my younger years I had sport bikes and then Harley's as I got older, I was an anti-waver then too.  To each his own, but the whole wave thing just seemed silly to me.

After I bot a Wrangler I was surprised at all the people waving at me. I kept thinking they were people that knew me. Took me a few days to figure it out....

When you first get a Jeep, all those people waving makes you think all those people actually like you or something......

Same here....although nobody waves at me in my Jeep. I think Grand Cherokees are pardoned from the wave rule.

Sympathy waves because they know how many trips you are going to make to the dealership, the auto parts store, ebay, etc.  One of my favorite things about jeeps is that they will display the error codes, don't even have to go to the store to borrow a scanner.

That's the PIR part, too darn many on the road. Always thought it was kind cool that specific vehicle groups did a wave (FJ40, Enduros, etc.  even bus drivers do it) but kind of an annoyance when every 5th vehicle on the road is a Jeep. IMO

With that being said, I try to do it....just so folks don't think I'm an arse........they just don't know me well enough to know that I am.
 :chuckle:

PS, surprised none of you read between the lines on my answer to Pegasus....one finger wave/PIR  :chuckle: :chuckle:

Mine never saw a dealership, but you are spot on about the parts stores, LOL

Good choice and the wheels and tire size.  Any other mods in the works?  I am looking at a backup camera, bumpers, and radio head unit.

9,000 lb winch, tinted windows, small lift to show off the shoes, EZ Rider Rifle Rack, NRA stickers, gun stickers that are crooked for a few options.

Rock Rails, I would not do any serious off roading without a good set of Rock Rails or Sliders.

I had the Rock Crawler lift installed on mine.  Epic Customs in Tacoma did the work.
