Title: Taurus PT111 G2 Millenium 9mm
Post by: DoubleJ on March 18, 2018, 02:43:57 PM
Just got done running 150 rounds through this NIB $219 gun.  I was leery of buying a Taurus due to the many many many complaints on it but, for $219 brand new and nothing even close to the price at the store, I went ahead and got it.  I went into the store looking for a Hi-Point but they didn't have any.

Well, after 150 rounds, there was no issues at all.  No failure to fire, no smoke stacks, nothing but smooth shooting.

That said, I already have a stainless steel recoil assembly on order along with replacement firing pin and return springs.

This is not and will not be my carry gun but, it is nice to have a gun in the house that my wife isn't scared to shoot like she is with the 12ga and the .357Sig.

Overall, at this point, having owned it for 5 hours, I'm ok with things

I've owned 1/2 dozen or so Taurus revolvers and I did break a spring in one but I sent it bacand they fixed it.

Update:

Since magazines for this gun are impossible to find, I did some internetting and found out that Sig P226 magazines fit.  So I picked up a couple of 20rd P226 magazines and they load, cycle, fire, and drop just like they were factory magazines.

Just can’t ever do the Taurus millennium thing again when I had a brand new one start milling itself to pieces with every shot  :twocents:
