Title: VERY disturbing lake find!!! No children please, you were warned.
Post by: bassquatch on April 27, 2018, 08:19:06 PM
Spotted this on Clear Lake in Skagit County tonight  :puke:

I couldn't get too close due to the wind and shallow water but I did report it to the SCSO.

Looks like a pit bull?  Looked to be shot in the head?  Was fairly bloated so hard to tell.  Still had a blue rope style harness around it's chest.  I'm not the biggest pit bull fan by any means but c'mon  :yike:  :bash:

Pretty tacky leaving it in the lake but I really don't see the need to notify Leo unless your expectjem to remove it? Maybe it was simply euthanized by the owner for health reasons.

Hard to say without knowing the circumstances but maybe that dog did irreparable damage to someone? They finally got it back. Then again, sometimes I believe it's the owner who deserves the bullet.  :twocents:

Agree to an extent with all.  The reason I reported it was A) Cruelty to animals is a felony I believe?  B) Could be a dog fighting ring in the area?  C)  Get it out of a small public body of water were people fish and recreate!

Dump the thing up in the wood somewhere if you're going to do it, let the yotes recycle it or something.  This was just plain nasty and makes me think the wrong animal took the bullet.

Do you have any evidence to support this?

I doubt its fighing ring with a harness. If your from this area like i am there are plenty of D bags with pits. Perhaps this one meet its end for a good reason.

Poor place to off a dog even a pit, bury it, but don't display in public. It's the right color for the One that almost meet its end in my neighborhood.

It could have been a stray.  It could have been a runaway.  I could have been the victim of illegal activity.  It could have been natural causes.

Doesn't really matter when you already made up your mind.

Relax....just thoughts that went through my mind.  Most normal pet owners don't put a bullet in a dogs head and toss it in a lake for disposal.  Perhaps it got into rat poison or antifreeze and sought out water like a wounded deer does?  Perhaps it got caught in the cross fire and the wind blew it down a hill and into the lake? Maybe an eagle dropped it? Suicide??

Yes, I'm being sarcastic....I haven't made up my mind about anything, just shared the first couple thoughts that ran through my head, were those thoughts negative? YEP!
